c.1922 Kellerman No 260 Mechanical Pansy Brooch
Neat little tin litho Mechanical Pansy Brooch manufactured by Kellerman, Nurnberg, Germany. There's a pin on the reverse side so it can be pinned onto a lapel. Pulling down on the string parts the two upper leaves to reveal a beautiful woman wearing a necklace. It still has its original amber glass bead on the end of the string. The edge of the leaves are embossed to give it more of a three dimensional appearance. It's marked with the Kellerman logo, Made in Germany, and the original catalog number. The backside of the leaves are all black. The pin and spring mechanism are scarlet red. The string and bead are original. I've shown a close-up of the bead. Possibly due to scarcity, Walter, in his book on Kellerman toys, Metal Toys From Nuremberg does not list this toy. Although it lists nearly all of the catalog numbers in order, it's missing number 260. The toy is complete, working and in near mint condition! Size: 2-3/4" x 2½" Sold: Apr. 2008
